Required Skills and Experience:

• Responsible for all functions of an accounts receivable department, including supervision of billers, collectors, coders, cash posters
• Ensure timely receipt of cash
• Ensure effective organization and completeness of records and files
• Effective management and collection of aged accounts
• Experience in billing and collection of medical accounts for a variety of services including inpatient, outpatient, skilled nursing, DME, home health and DDD services, using UB-92 and HCFA 1500 forms
• Placement of bad debt to collection
• Coding experience and certification is a plus
• Medicare Part A and Part B experience
• Knowledge of and experience with wide range of payer billing requirements and timeframes
• AHCCCS contract understanding and billing / collecting experience

• Management Reporting of multi-entities / programs

Medical Collections Representative

We are seeking a for full-time Medical Collections Rep. in the Phoenix area.

Qualified candidates will possess: 2+ years of recent Medical Collections experience, a Healthcare background, and basic to intermediate computer skills.Hourly pay for the position is negotiable depending on experience.All applicants must be eligible to work in the US. EOE.

Medical Biller

• Review remittance advice forms to verify proper reimbursement and to make adjustments as necessary.
• Responsible for the analysis of patient records and determining the legitimacy of treatment, diagnostic testing, admissions.
• Processes billing and follow-up for third party billing
• Checks to ensure that hospital records for patients include all information required for Third Party reimbursement.
• Verifies correct Third Party coding to ensure prompt payment.
• Verifies billing information for electronic claims transmission and hard copy billing (UB-92 and HCFA)
• Consults with claims processors at Third Party Payor companies regarding disputes/denied claims and follow up on all bills not processed within usual claim period.

Job Requirements:

• Minimum 6 months Medical Billing experience – this is not an entry level position.
• Knowledge of managed care contracts, workers’ compensation legal requirements, and fee schedules may be required.
• Must have knowledge of HMO's, PPO, AHCCCS, and Medicare. Out-of-state Medicaid a plus.
• Knowledge of computerized billing software.
• Experience with either HCFA's and/or UB's.
• Commercial and hospital experience is helpful.
• Must possess knowledge of ICD-9, CPT, HCPCS and OP coding,
• Medical Terminology knowledge.
• HIPAA compliant.
• Must have a High School Diploma or Equivalent.
